    DeAnna McIntosh, Idea-to-Execution Strategist
Hey! I'm DeAnna. This exact exercise is what started me down this path I'm on today, as the Founder of this company, The Visionry.
In 2022, my family and I had hit rock bottom financially, spiritually, mentally, all the "ly's". The pandemic really took a toll on us.

The backstory is, a few months before the pandemic began, I'd left my 9 to 5 to work for myself full-time inside my retail consulting business, not knowing the whole world would come to a halt soon after. What I also didn't know, was that retailers would start closing at a rapid rate, and retail would be one of the worst hit industries, translating to a catastrophic financial loss in our household. During the middle of being in lockdown, I also gave birth to my first child.

One day, in the midst of all this, I sat down in my office and could not stop crying for the 8 hours I was there. The weight of everything had finally caught up to me, and there was nothing I could do to stop it.

Before I go on - if you can't tell by now, our partnership will be a raw one.  One of my core values is around radical transparency and authenticity in business and in life, and you'll find that in our interactions.
To truly understand who I am, and this idea-to-execution work that I do, I believe that the most powerful thing I can do is let you in.
Let you into my thoughts, my experiences, my "idea failures" (even though I don't believe in this word failure because I honestly view everything in life as a learning lesson) so you can understand where my perspective comes from.
    Ok, back to the story.
I was having this breakdown in my office, and so I immediately found a therapist to help me work through it all.  While in this process, I cannot remember for the life of me who asked me this next question, but it was the spark for everything that followed.
I was asked, "If you could be anywhere in the world right now, and money wasn't an object/obstacle, where would you be and what would you be doing?".
This question stopped me dead in my tracks.

    I froze.

But then after a minute or so, the vision started flowing.

Everything I'd dreamed of in the past but had shoved down inside of me from having tunnel vision in survival mode started coming back to me. As a new Mom, I'd also found myself saying often that everything, and nothing, had changed since giving birth, but I didn't fully understand what I even meant until this moment.

Here were just some of my answers to the powerful question above:
    • I'd be back in Florence, Italy (I spent a year there studying fashion abroad my junior year at The Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT)
    • Brainstorming new ideas for and with Clients
    • Making dinner alongside our private chef in our dream home
    • Hosting retreats for visioning, expanding palettes / mindsets, exploring more of yourself (because I believe you don't discover the depths of this until you're in an unfamiliar place)
    • Being flown out to be with Clients as they do "big things"
    • Mentoring young women of color
    • Hosting workshops at organizations to teach their leaders how to create the spaces and environment for teams to bring their authentic selves to work
After I felt like I'd exhausted every answer I had to this question, I asked myself 8 more questions to dig deeper.
This entire visioning exercise is what I now call The Possibility Explorer.  Here is the actual picture of my result from the exercise!

    DeAnna McIntosh, Idea-to-Execution Strategist
Hey! I'm DeAnna. Vision Architect, Idea-to-Execution Strategist, and the founder of The Visionry, where big ideas become bold realities and tangible impact.
Over the past 15+ years, I've helped brands from Fortune 500s to grassroots startups shape their next chapter. From leading global strategy for multi-billion dollar retailers, to building innovation programs inside local governments, I've worked at the intersection of creativity, commerce, and community my entire career.
My zone of genius? Spotting patterns, pulling out possibility, and turning raw ideas into clear, confident action.
I've been trusted by brands like Bloomingdales, Office Depot, The Home Depot, Chico's, and I've guided hundreds of individuals and organizations to move from vision to execution - faster and more aligned than they ever thought possible. But behind the résumé, here's what drives me:
Creativity - it is our most neglected and systematically abandoned life skill in adulthood, and it shows.
Your best ideas are trapped behind endless to-do lists, perfectionist paralysis, and the relentless pressure to "be productive." You know you're capable of creative thinking, but somewhere along the way, the joy of creating got buried under "shoulds", deadlines, and self-doubt.

Idea Flow isn't another productivity system or creativity hack. It's a sanctuary for your imagination - a judgment-free space where your mind can wander, wonder, and discover what it's truly capable of when the pressure is off and we tap into who we truly are and what we actually want.

Here, your ideas matter more than your output. Your curiosity matters more than your calendar. And your creative voice - the one that's been whispering beneath all that noise - finally gets to speak.
I do this work because I believe your ideas have the power to fundamentally reshape the way work works and life is lived. And that our world - and your world - will only change once you choose to bring them to life.

    See you inside!

    here's the truth:

The solutions the world needs already exist - but they're trapped inside people who don't move on their ideas.

There are many reasons we've landed in this place of inaction.

Burnout. Perfectionism. Fear. Capitalism. But if we're being real?

    Adulting killed our creativity.

What this really comes down to is:

The change you want to see - in your life, your community, your corner of the world - depends on you moving on the vision and ideas you've been sitting on.

That idea that's been circling your mind for months (or years). That pull you feel but haven't made space to pursue. That "what if" that you keep brushing off.

That's your path forward, and it's time to move on it.
